ItInsightsWorld: Seco Modular Vision 10.1 MX95 Enters Volume Manufacturing for Integrated Industrial HMI

The Seco Modular Vision 10.1 MX95 industrial human-machine interface (HMI) platform is now in volume manufacturing. The move gives OEMs and system integrators a more direct path for new machine interfaces and upgraded equipment designs, because the NXP i.MX 95 applications processor architecture consolidates processing, display, industrial connections, and software in one place. The aim is to make development, verification, and deployment simpler.

It is intended for operator control, equipment monitoring, and local data handling in industrial settings. Typical uses include machine interfaces, plant and equipment management, quality inspection, and edge AI workloads that require real-time analysis close to the data source.

Hardware endurance and visual specifications

The panel is a 10.1-inch touchscreen with at least 400 nits of brightness, and it has a specified backlight lifetime of 30,000 hours or more. Alongside the i.MX 95 processor, graphics processing and AI acceleration are specified up to 2.0 TOPS/8 eTOPS. The design supports panel mounting, front-side IP65 protection, integrated thermal management, and a wide DC input range for industrial environments.

Lifecycle software and storage choices

For security and lifecycle management, the platform includes hardware-based capabilities supporting FIPS 140-3 compliance and Clea OS, a Yocto-based industrial operating system from Seco. Through that environment, security, software updates, and device management help connected equipment remain manageable and protected across its operating life. This also supports readiness for changing cybersecurity requirements, including those connected with the EU Cyber Resilience Act.

To address different software, data storage, and processing needs, Seco provides two memory configurations: 4-GB RAM with 16-GB eMMC storage, and 8-GB RAM with 64-GB eMMC.

Availability and integration value

Because the platform has reached volume manufacturing, the Modular Vision 10.1 MX95 gives industrial equipment manufacturers a ready-to-integrate HMI platform combining visualization, edge computing, AI acceleration, and software management. Access through DigiKey also gives customers a way to evaluate the platform or obtain smaller quantities for development and deployment.
