This ItInsightsWorld report looks at Samsung Electronics bringing the W27 to China's ultra-premium foldable segment. The handset continues the W series' business-focused partnership with China Telecom, uses the Galaxy Z Fold series as its engineering base, and adds distinct design touches for immediate recognizability.

The W27 centers on a black-and-gold color scheme, with gold detailing around visible body accents. Compared with the global Galaxy Z Fold series, Samsung has applied dedicated customization to materials and packaging, strengthening the phone's business luxury and collectible appeal.
Its folding hardware combines an 8-inch inner display with a 6.5-inch cover display, both supporting high refresh-rate operation. Qualcomm's latest flagship mobile platform provides the compute side, while high-capacity storage combinations support multitasking and productivity workloads.

Imaging remains flagship-oriented: the rear triple-camera setup includes a high-resolution main sensor, an ultra-wide lens, and a telephoto lens, covering multiple focal lengths. The bendable chassis also creates extra angles for selfies, video calls, and content creation.
Artificial intelligence is a major selling point. The device includes Samsung's latest Galaxy AI capabilities such as real-time translation, smart summarization, content generation, and image editing, with functions tuned for office workflows.

Battery support comes from a high-capacity battery with wired and wireless charging. On the software side, One UI is built on Android and leverages the large foldable panel for multi-window coordination, simultaneous running of several apps, and cross-application operations.
As a line created for China's high-end market, the W series has traditionally sat above standard Galaxy flagships. The new W27 preserves that hierarchy: it keeps the core hardware of Samsung's foldable Galaxy flagship, then emphasizes exclusive design, customized service, and a business-first identity to reach premium buyers.
With the W27 entering the market, Samsung's ultra-premium foldable portfolio in China becomes more complete. Facing competition from Huawei, Honor, Xiaomi, and vivo, the company intends to rely on mature foldable technology and the W series' established luxury image to sustain influence in the highest tier of the foldable smartphone segment.
