On October 27, attention focused on the iPad mini promotional images on the Apple Korea official website and the Apple China official website: the South Korea page showed the device without a hand, while the China page showed fingers pinching the tablet edge.

According to Apple's official website, the new iPad mini is 5.4 mm thick, uses the A20 Pro chip, and is equipped with an OLED display. The Chinese official website used the hand-and-device contrast to make the slim body easier to perceive, while the Korean official website image displayed the product alone.
The inconsistency led observers to ask whether Apple may have taken local cultural sensitivity into account. In South Korea, a gesture made by bringing the thumb and index finger together has drawn repeated controversy. In 2023, a MapleStory promotional video connected with Nexon triggered a backlash after some internet users questioned a similar gesture, and the animation producer later apologized.
As of now, Apple has not publicly explained why the iPad mini image was adjusted on the Korean official website.
